Dr. O’Brien is AECOM’s water-practice lead in Pittsburgh. With over 30 years' experience in design, construction management, and managing construction disputes as an arbitrator and neutral third-party facilitator for alternative dispute-resolution processes, Patrick brings a wealth of experience in project types--from hotels and performing arts centers to substations and drinking water pump stations--as well as a range of project delivery systems, from Design/Build and Construction Manager-at-Risk to Pennsylvania’s antiquated multiple prime system.

He is a registered professional in engineering in four states, including PA, an authorized Project Management Professional Training Provider with PMI, and a CMAA Certified Construction Manager. His presentation is based on projects he was called in to “rescue” when they were either stalled or had taken a bad turn and were heading towards disaster.

Dr. O'Brien has earned a reputation for effectiveness by using innovative business strategies and client-focused solutions.
